A2L is already in here
This is the 2nd Edition, which adds new tools, updated procedures and the A2L refrigerants R-32 and R-454B. The cards carry A2L P/T charts.
Each piece does a different job, and none of them replaces the other two.
- The paperback. The procedure, written in the order the work happens: what to measure, where, what the reading means, what to do next.
- The Workbook. Over 1,600 questions across six question types, so you find out what did not stick while it still costs you nothing.
- The Quick Reference Cards. A2L pressure/temperature charts and refrigerant weight charts, in a form you can carry rather than look up.
The subject is charging and service on air conditioning systems, worked end to end:
- Total Superheat and Total Subcooling, and which metering device calls for which
- The total weight charging method, including refrigerant per foot of line set
- Recovery, evacuation and the vacuum procedure
- Leak detection methods and pressure testing limits
- A2L refrigerants, R-32 and R-454B, with the tools and handling they require
- Troubleshooting sequences and the readings that point to each fault
Read a chapter, work the matching questions, then keep the card for the readings you will want at the unit.
Free shipping within the USA. Orders normally leave within one to two business days. Returns are accepted within 30 days in resalable condition; the full terms are on the refund policy page.
Reading a procedure is not the same as knowing it.
You find that out at the condenser, usually with a customer standing behind you. The Workbook puts it earlier: over 1,600 questions in six different formats, so a topic you only half absorbed shows up as a wrong answer at the kitchen table instead of a wasted hour on a call.
See what is in the A/C bookThe card is the part that goes up the ladder.
Nobody carries a paperback onto a roof. The Quick Reference Cards hold the A2L pressure/temperature charts and the refrigerant weight charts, which are the two things you actually need in hand while the gauges are on. The book stays where you study; the card goes where you work.
Check the P/T chartA2L is not a next-year problem.
R-32 and R-454B are on equipment now, and the handling, the tools and the pressures are not what you learned on R-410A. The 2nd Edition covers them as part of the procedure rather than as an appendix bolted on at the end.
